Los Gatos is a perfect family-friendly town. Filled with parks, playgrounds, nature and kid-approved restaurants, you are sure to keep the whole family entertained.
Oak Meadow
Begin your day at Oak Meadow Park. Enjoy a vintage carousel ride and hop on the authentic steam-engine Billy Jones Railroad. The playground boasts a decommissioned USAF T-33 Jet, making it a favorite for kids of all ages.
Vasona Lake County Park
Vasona Lake County Park features 45 acres of lush lawns, perfect for frisbee, softball, or simply relaxing under the sun. Picnicking here is easy with numerous first-come, first-served picnic areas. From early spring through early fall, you can rent paddle boats and rowboats (Los Gatos Recreation for more details). The park is also a great fishing spot, with black bass, crappie, catfish, and bluegill ready for catch.
Don’t miss the Youth Science Institute (YSI) at the park’s north end. They offer programs that interpret science and foster an appreciation for the natural environment. Visit their website, Youth Science Institute, for more details.
Los Gatos Meats & Smokehouse
Los Gatos Meats and Smokehouse is not only a local staple, but also a piece of Los Gatos history. Established in 1891, generations of families have served Los Gatos locals and visitors alike. They feature high quality, specialty meats which make delicious deli sandwiches. Family-owned and operated, you will be treated with friendly service that truly makes you feel connected to our community.
